Routeing Guide – Permitted routes & maps

Easily access the data in the yellow pages to find the map codes for permitted routes between two routeing points (RPs), and then view the appropriate maps, for the GB rail network. To make use of this data, it requires prior knowledge of the routeing guide. This tool has similar functionality to the yellow pages, but much quicker!

Note additional routes may be valid by the three mile rule or relevant easements (or made invalid by negative easements).

I recommend using National Rail's Routeing Point Calculator to find the valid origin and destination routeing points.

Always use an accredited journey planner to validate journeys before travelling.
